Friday Antics
Ouch what a night. My teeth are such a bother at the moment. Lucky for me I have Mummy and Daddy looking after me. I was up and down a bit last night though, and I think we are all a little tired. Daddy was a trooper and left for work early, but Mummy and I had a little lie-in. Lucky us!!
After my morning nap we headed off to our Baby Sensory class for the last time :( I was still a little grumpy when we left home, but cheered up once there and I got to see my friends and play lots of games! I gave Laura a nice cuddle when we left, but with all that playing I was a knackered little girl!
After my lunchtime nap, to cheer ourselves up we went to Jellybeans Play Centre. Mummy got to chat with Sonia and Sarah, and I got to play with Caitlin and Charlotte. It was lots of fun, although it is hardwork keeping up with Caitlin, she is such a fast little girl!

A Walk Aound Seagrave
Today was our last day with Isobel, but before we could go we decided to get a good proper look of the village. The rain had cleared up for the morning and the sun came out, hoorah! We went through the village and up to the fields. Deano ran ahead of us and kept me entertained while I sat in the pram. We saw some sheep and cows with their babies. The cows looked very big indeed! On the way home we visited the village park and I got to have another go on some swings!

Today for the first time I managed to sit up by myself. Mummy was very surprised when she saw me do it, and I could tell she was very proud of me too!

Trip to Seagrave
Yesterday Mummy and I drove down to a little village called Seagrave to visit Nanna's friend Isobel. She has been very nice so far, and making us feel very much at home. After living in the UK for some 40 odd years, she doesn't have much of an Australian accent left now though!
Today I met Isobel's dog, Deano. We've had lots of fun playing together. He likes to bring me the ball ... but I am not really very good at throwing it (although I have tried) and Mummy usually throws it for him. He is very funny and he makes me laugh lots!

This afternoon we went for a drive to a nearby village, Barrow Upon Soar. It was very pretty with the leaves falling off the trees, and we took a lovely walk along the canal. It has really cooled off now, and Mummy had me all rugged up! The best part was when I got to play on the swings, they are so much fun!
I have been doing a bit more teething, and it is no fun, I can tell you. I've gone off my food, and I have a very sore bottom. Grrrrr, grizzle grizzle.

My First Halloween
My Mummy and Daddy are very daggy, they dressed me up as a pumpkin all day today! Mummy even put me in the window for decoration ... ahh, parents eh! We also went trick or treating - well, just next door to see Vicki, Phil, Annabel and Pat. Annabel was all dressed up too for a Halloween party that she was going to.
We gave Mummy a well deserved morning off, and Daddy took me swimming. Gee I enjoy getting in the water! We almost didn't make it because Daddy couldn't find my bathers - luckily at the last moment he found them - hoorah!
Tonight we are off to Ellie and Paul's - Mummy and Daddy will have dinner there, and they are hoping that I will be a good girl and sleep well the whole time. I might have a few tricks up my sleeve though (PS. and she did!)

Month 9 Photo Link
8 months old today!
I've now mastered the commando crawl, and I can get about well, keeping Mummy and Daddy on their toes! I really want to get going now though. I have my 2 front bottom teeth, and a few more are threatening to pop through. Winter is fast approaching, and I've been catching colds and building up my immune system!
Here is the link for the Month 9 Photos. We will keep this updated as the month rolls on, so keep checking this link out.
PS. I just put a few more photos onto the Month 8 photo link as well.

A Walk in the Park
After playgroup today, and of course my morning nap, Mummy and I met up with Lindy and William for a walk. William wasn't so much fun today, he slept for most of the walk. Lindy said he wasn't well. It didn't stop Mummy and Lindy from nattering though!
We went along the Sankey Canal, and it was lovely. All the leaves are starting to change colours and Mummy even sat me in a pile of leaves that had fallen off the trees! It was fun! We stopped at one point to look at the swans and their babies. One was a bit scarey, I thought it was going to jump out of the water at me - we moved along very quickly, and didn't stop to look at them again on our return trip!

Splish Splash I was Taking a Bath
Oh what fun bath time is!
I don't know who got more of a bath, me or Daddy! I was very hyped up tonight!
On the Move
I am getting stronger and more adventureous all the time. I've just got to work out that crawling thing!
We've had another busy weekend! I've even been a good girl and slept through the night for the past 2 nights. The medication seems to be helping my cold, which is good news. Because I am sleeping so well, I am much happier during the day too. Mummy and Daddy also seem happier too, not so tired!
Yesterday we went to The Jungle for a play. While I was there I met another little girl called Megan. She was a couple of months older than me, but it was still fun playing with her and watching her do stuff like standing, clapping and waving! I must learn how to do that someday!
Ellie and Paul popped around in the afternoon with Sam. Uncle Paul was trying to show me how to push the walker. I kind of got the hang of it, well until the chair got in the way! They asked Mummy and Daddy to be one of Sam's godparents, which they are very chuffed about.

We went to church this morning. I really enjoying watching all the people and listening to the songs! Today there was a funny girl sitting behind us, and I couldn't stop laughing. Luckily Mummy rushed us home, and we got home just before the rain really came down! Otherwise we would've ended up very wet, as we were walking!
Daddy has just been for a run, phew did he look a bit hot and bothered when he got home! Good on Daddy for getting out there. When he is all showered he is going to take me for an outing! Hoorah, time with Daddy!

I Love My Daddy
I love my Daddy,
he makes me very happy.
When he has been away a while,
I give him a great big smile!
he makes me very happy.
When he has been away a while,
I give him a great big smile!
Yep, that is me, great big smiles for Daddy when he comes home from work. Now this is not to say that I don't love Mummy too, but I reserve my extra big smiles for when Daddy comes home. Mummy gets the extra big cuddles, so it all evens out!
This afternoon Mummy took me to the doctors, because I haven't been feeling very well. Today, I just could not keep my food down, and Mummy was a bit worried. It was a bit scary at the doctors, and when the doctor was having a look at me golly did I cry. She said I had a bit of a viral infection, and has given me some antibiotics to help clear it up. Hopefully it kicks in quickly so I can be a happy girl again!
We also went to the farm shop again today. But because it was so chilly outside, and I wasn't too well, we didn't get a chance to have a look at the horses. Mummy wanted to keep me nice and warm!

The Jungle
Daddy had a night out last night, and I was up early, so we were all a little tired this morning. Daddy suggested a trip to The Jungle, which is where we went ... I went with Mummy earlier in the week, where we met up with some friends, and Daddy wanted to see what this place was all about! Basically it is a big play centre with things to climb all over. There is a special area for babies which is where I go!
Mummy and Daddy had a coffee and a chocolate muffin, while I had my lunch. I was even lucky enough to get a nibble of the muffin too - hmmm, I think Mummy is working on my sweet tooth! I then got to have a play with the toys which was fun. I really like the big mirror they have there, it makes me laugh!

Yesterday Mummy helped out at a Nearly New Sale, and she came home with lots of great new toys for me. I am particularly happy with the music on the walker - although I'm not up to the stage of walking with it just yet. I'll just press the buttons for now and play with the flaps!

Winter is Coming ...
Oh no, winter is officially coming upon us ... the heater has gone on! Arrrrgh! For how many more months, who knows?? Mummy is keeping me nice and warm and always makes sure I go outside rugged up! I think this is because for the past 2 weeks my nose has finally stopped running!
Today was the usual Friday, off to baby sensory class and then the farm shop. In our free playtime at baby sensory I even managed to crawl (somewhat) through a tunnel. Mummy did have to coax me through with the promise of a toy to play with at the other end, but none the less I eventually made it, and I could tell that Mummy was very chuffed with me! At the farm shop we bought our fruit and vegies, and then we went to have a look at the ducks and horses. There was a very friendly horse today, and gee he made me laugh! The way his tongue moved in and out was very funny!

My First Tooth
Well, it is official, my first tooth has finally popped through ... hoorah hoorah ... not without a little pain though. Phew, that was some tough times! Oh well, only a few more to go!
Mummy and Daddy have both been feeling it for a few days (ouch, a little sensitivity to a little girl please), but Mummy finally decided she saw it today when I lifted my tongue. It is one of my bottom teeth ...

The Farm Shop
This afternoon Mummy took me to the farm shop. I've heard her and Daddy talk about it every week, and finally this time I got to go too. Mummy also sat me in a trolley for the first time too. It was a little scary at first, but so long as I sat nice and straight and didn't wobble it was all ok! Mummy gave me a paper bag to play with, but there were so many interesting things to look at.
After Mummy put to fruit and vegetables in the car we went looking for animals. We were lucky enough to find a dog, some chickens scratching in the mud and some horses. I am looking forward to our trip there again next week!

Month 8 Photo Link
7 months old already! I am now sitting up by myself, and starting to do a bit of a commando crawl. I love giving Mummy kisses, but I am not sure about Daddy, maybe the occassional one! A few teeth are making themself known, but they just won't pop through. I love playing music too!
Here is the link for the Month 8 Photos. We will keep this updated as the month rolls on, so keep checking this link out.
PS. I just put a few more photos onto the Month 7 photo link as well, there are lots on there from our holiday in Tenerife!

Home Again
Well, our holiday has finally come to an end. What a great holiday it has been ... warm and sunny weather, lots of swimming, a trip to the beach, sight-seeing, good food and beer (well, apparently at night time for Mummy and Daddy when I am in bed), and lots of time with Mummy and Daddy. Ah, so relaxing, do we really have to go home ...

After packing up, for our last day we took a walk down to Playa de la Americas, and walked along the tourist strip. Mummy and Daddy stopped for some lunch. They gave me a little, but I just wasn't hungry ... but I was very tired and I slept on the way back to our appartment. Then it was time for a cool down and our final swim. Mummy and I did a spot of sunbaking before we hopped in the pool. I think we can tell who's feet I inherited!

Hopefully the flight home is uneventful ...

A Trip to the Beach

This morning Daddy and I had some 'us' time while Mummy went on a dolphin and whale-watching trip. Mummy saw lots of dolphins and whales, and went swimming in the ocean! Apparently it was lovely and warm and a beautiful clear blue. Meanwhile Daddy and I went up to the pool. I got to play with some of the other kids too, but apparently I was a bit of a bully and chased a 2 year old boy out of the pool. With my sweet face, how could I scare someone away!
Mummy got home around lunchtime, and after my nap we took a drive down to the beach ... my first time at the beach! What excitement!! There was this weird black stuff called "sand" ...
The sand was weird stuff. I was trying to crawl like I have been in the appartment, but it was so much harder. Humpf! The sand is slippery stuff ...

We’re All Going on a Summer Holiday
Phew, just in time! Mummy’s passport arrived in the post today. Talk about cutting it fine!! It might’ve just been Daddy and I going on our holiday... Mummy had to send her passport off to the home office because they were requesting more information, and they did assure her it would be back with her in a few days. Well, it took a few phone calls to make sure it had arrived and that they were sending it back. But now we can all rest easy and look forward to going on our holiday to Tenerife!

Playtime
Mummy has got me some new toys, and I am having fun playing with them ... and eating them!
Time for me to catch up with my friends ... we are off to Baby Sensory class now!

Music time
We've had a busy week so far this week ... school is back and so are all the classes. We've swimming, and we've even started going in the 'big' pool now! It is a little cooler in this pool, but we get to join in with the songs, and that is fun! Swimming was followed by a lunch out, Wednesday we were back at playgroup and today at Mums and Tots.
When we got home, Mummy and I played a bit of music! I can't decide whether to play the maracas or eat them!

Food Glorious Food
Today I got my first taste of meat; it was yummy. Mummy made a lovely chicken stew for me at lunch, and I gobbled it all up quickly! For dinner I got to try some strawberries, but I didn't like that so much, and I pulled a horrible face! So I got to have one of my favourites, pear instead!
It was also a bank holiday today, so I got to have an extra day with Daddy! Yay! In the afternoon we went to visit some friends and their new baby, Eve. She was tiny, Mummy and Daddy could not believe that I was once that small (although I was)!!
Mummy went shopping, and I got some new toys to play with. I am a lucky girl!!
PS. I've finally got around to updating some of the earlier entries for August. Check me out having my first meal, and hear all about my return flight home!

Horseriding
Today Daddy arrange for us (well, not me exactly) to go horseriding with his friend from work, Caroline! Caroline lives in Frodsham, a village not too far from us in Warrington. She had a lovely big house and 5 acres of land. The weather even held out for us, although it did get a bit windy as the day progressed.
What a funny morning we had!
After a cup of tea, we heading across the road to her stables where she kept her horse Joey. She was a lovely horse, about 11/12 years old.

Caroline was a very good teacher. First off Mummy and Daddy both had a turn walking on Joey. Caroline led Joey to start off with, and then they walked Joey by themselves. She was a very good horse, although Mummy did have a problem getting her to go in a straight line!
After each taking a turn of walking Joey, they then got to trot. This was a little trickier and a little bumpier! Daddy wore some extra padding, which he was glad of! Caroline kept Joey on a rope while they each trotted. Daddy also tried to canter; at one stage Mummy was busy looking after me, and when she looked up she saw Daddy leaning to one side; then he was leaning a bit further to the side, and suddenly he was on all fours on the ground, rolling about in a laughing fit! Once Mummy was sure he was ok, she had a good chuckle too!
Daddy was not hurt, and got back on the horse, so to speak! Although he did not try to canter again! After Daddy's fall, Mummy was too nervous to try the canter, but she did master (somewhat) the trot!
Mummy and Daddy enjoyed their night out last night; Daddy took Mummy to a pub near his work, although he did get a little lost. The longer trip was worth it because the meal was fantastic, and they even treated themselves to 3 courses! Afterwards they went bowling, and Daddy remained the champion ...

Swimming with Daddy and Mummy
Today Daddy took me on my Saturday morning swim, and Mummy decided to come and join us! It was fun swimming with them both! I got to go under the water and swim from Mummy to Daddy and back again! I also got to play in my ring; because I am growing so much I can now touch the bottom on the baby pool! It is fun walking along the bottom and kicking about.
Mummy left us after a while and went for a swim of her own, she then joined Daddy and I for lunch. Well, really I had just finished my lunch and was ready for my nap, but Mummy and Daddy decided to have lunch out at the gym. I was a good girl and slept while they had lunch!
We've had another busy week; swimming on Tuesday and lunch with friends, a morning in the creche while Mummy went to the gym (she pulled up very sore from the Body Balance class she went too), catch-up with the NCT babies, baby sensory and lots of playing! I am now sitting well on my own. Mummy has a special ring for me which I like to sit in and play with my toys, and if I fall over I don't hurt myself.

I got another cold again this week; Mummy thinks I may've picked it up in the creche. I like putting everything in my mouth, so she also thinks I might be starting to teeth. I've been sleeping through from 7-7 now (yay says Mummy and Daddy), but my cold means I am a bit unsettled during the night.
Tonight Mummy and Daddy have booked a babysitter again and are going out for a night on the town. I better be on my best behaviour!

Play date
Today it was our turn to have the Mums over with their babies - I was in my element, I got to show everyone my toys. I was so happy I was squealing!!! He he he! Mummy thinks I need to learn to share a little better though, because I kept grabbing the toys off everyone! I even tried to pull George's socks off! It was a fun way to spend the afternoon.

Run Mummy Run
Today Daddy's turn to sleep in, which was just as well, because I think he got in quite late last night! Well, Mummy did have her turn the night before! However, we didn't let Daddy sleep in too long, because we had to all get ready for Mummy's run; Daddy and I were the support crew!
Mummy had decided a week or so ago that she needed to do this run to give herself a bit of a push to get fit. She last did the Birchwood run 2 years ago with a team from work, so the benchmark was set! Apparently this is how the run went:
Start: feeling nervous, off quickly
1 km mark: paced slowed down a bit, this is going to be a long run
2 km mark: only 2 km done???
4 km mark: time for a brisk walk
5 km mark: half way, but still have the same distance to go ... oh dear!
7 km mark: getting there, but there is still a hill to go
9 km mark: almost, almost ...
9.9 km mark: "Lexi, Lexi" (I did not notice the feeble cry as she ran past)
10 km mark: oh thank god
Mummy was pretty knackered afterwards, but Daddy did a good job looking after her, and me!! Mummy stumbled in about 15 mins on her previous time, which goes to show what having a baby and only running a handful of times in the past year does to you! I wonder how she will pull up tomorrow!

Hanging Around
Today Daddy and I gave Mummy her the usual Saturday lie-in, and we went swimming. Swimming with Daddy is fun! We also saw my friend Jake with his Daddy too! Last night Mummy went out on the town with some of her friends, so I think the extra sleep was needed! (Note, only 2 diet cokes were consumed!)
I spent the afternoon with Mummy, and we decided to try out the bouncer. Mummy was a bit worried that I would jump into the doorway, but I managed to keep my feet steady! It was lots of fun, I could watch Mummy do stuff in the kitchen and move around in circles! How clever am I!

My First Food
Although they were going to wait until I was back on UK time, Mummy and Daddy decided to start me on some food straight away, because I was looking hungry!
Daddy got to do the honours, and fed me my first meal; a couple of teaspoons of baby rice mixed with some of my milk for lunch. It was very tasty and I kept going for more!
Mummy has ordered me a highchair, which should arrive in the next couple of days. She seems to think that feeding me in that will be a little easier!
This afternoon we went and watched some of Mummy and Daddy's friends compete in Ironman UK. It was just nearby in Bolton (north Manchester). We got to see them all on the run, and from what we saw the run course seemed quite hilly. Daddy seemed quite happy just to be watching, but I wonder if it has inspired him for next year ...

Home Sweet Home
On the flight from Melbourne to Dubai

On the flight from Dubai to Manchester
After travelling for a day, we finally arrived home, and to a very excited Daddy! Yipee! Mummy was very glad to see Daddy too, I think she was a little exhausted from looking after me ....
For me it had been a long flight too. I slept ok from Melbourne to Dubai, just woke up for a feed around 3am, but then slept a little more. But really I wanted to play, and there wasn't much room. I spent a lot of time standing on Mummy's lap. When we got to Dubai, there were no strollers, so Mummy had to carry me for a bit; I had put on a bit of weight in Melbourne, and I think she thought her arms were going to fall off. Finally one of the staff at the airport helped her to find a stroller for me!
When we were back on the plane, I was having a good sleep again, but unfortunately there was a bit of turbulence and Mummy had to hold me. This unfortunately woke me, and I was ready to play! My favourite new game is standing up!
It was great to see Daddy, but unfortunately I was a little worn out from it all and I got a bit upset. After Daddy bathed me and gave me a quick cuddle, I got to have a good nap.

It is good to be home, and back again with both Mummy and Daddy!

Good bye Melbourne
Well, today is our last day here, and Mummy and I have been getting ready to get back on the plane. Last night we had our final dinner with Nanna and Grandpa Perry, Auntie Catherine, and Grandma and Grandpa Mahar. I tried to give lots of smiles and good cuddles out!
Today once Mummy was all packed, we headed over to see Grandma. Nanna followed us a little later on, and then finally all the workers arrived (Grandpa Mahar and Perry, and Auntie Catherine). A few more cuddles with everyone and then Mummy and I piled into a couple of cars and headed out to the airport.
We checked in nice and early - I think Mummy was hoping for an upgrade, but it didn't happen. The main thing though was that I got a bassinet to sleep in. We had a final coffee at the airport (none for me though), and then it was time to head off!
What a lovely holiday, and so nice to meet everyone!

Rest day!
Today Mummy and I had a much needed rest day! We stayed at home with Grandma Mahar, and I got lots of playing in! Grandma used the time to maximise her cuddles with me. Great Grandma Mahar and Auntie Marilyn also popped in for a visit. I tried my best to be charming and cute!
I also had a lot of time playing on the floor. I am getting pretty good at twisting myself inside out and every other direction! Playing with my feet is one of my favourite activities at the moment ...

PS. Mummy did manage to get a run in today, so now feels it was worthwhile carting her runners from the UK to Melbourne. Rumour has it that the run wasn't very fast, and that her legs were feeling a little sore in the afternoon!

Pancake Palour
Yum, yum, yum!
Today we all went out for lunch at the Pancake Palour; Nanna and Grandpa Perry, Auntie Mel and Lachlan, Grandma Mahar, Mummy and I. What a decadent start to the week! Grandpa took the day off which was great. There was lots of chit chat, but for the most part Lachlan and I just slept! What good babies we were! Mummy's eyes were just as big as her stomach, as she ate her way through a savoury pancake AND a dessert pancake. She is thinking that some exercise may be in order tomorrow ... maybe she might make use of her runners she carted over from the UK! (but lets not get ahead of ourselves!)
It has been a busy few days really, catching up with lots and lots of different people. Uncle Andrew (the one from Mummy's side, not Daddy's side of the family) flew down from Sydney on Saturday, and I got to meet him too. He was a bit tired on Saturday night, but we are still undecided as to whether it was because of the very early flight he took, or the nips of Scotch Grandpa was giving him on Saturday afternoon! Mummy reackons she rolled away from the family dinner on Saturday night with lots of (more) yummy food filling her belly!
Yesterday we saw Nanna and Grandpa Perry again, and we got a shot of the proud grandparents! Weren't they lucky to have both grandkids visiting!
My cold is getting on the mend now, and to Mummy's delight I've been sleeping through the night again for the past couple of nights. I've even given her a little lie-in, not waking her until 7:30am today!

Visitors from Sydney
Today Auntie Mel and cousin Lachlan arrived from Sydney - more people to meet! Mummy picked them up from the airport while I stayed behind and played with Nanna. I tried to charm Auntie Mel with my winning smile (I think I managed it), but with cousin Lachlan I had to stamp my authority early on and stole a toy off him. I don't think Mummy was impressed! We did have quite a nice time playing together though!

My First Cold
Yesterday was such an exciting day. After my morning nap Mummy, Nanna Perry and I went over to Grandma Mahar's house, where we met up with Auntie Serena and cousin Patrick. It was great - I got to spend lots of time with Patrick, and we had both the grannies coo-ing at us. Auntie Serena and Mummy used this opportunity to go out for lunch together - lucky them, such a rare treat!
In the evening Mummy and I went to visit Adam (Daddy's counsin) and Ann-Marie. They cooked a yummy dinner for Mummy, and they did lots of catching up. I was a little naughty, because I didn't want to go to bed - I wanted to hear all the tales! Eventually Mummy got me to sleep!
All the activity can wear a little girl out, and during the night, my already snuffly nose got snufflier! Poor Mummy, I had her in and out of bed many more times than she would care to remember, and I don't think she got much sleep. Thankfully Nanna got up to feed me in the morning again, and Mummy got to have a bit of a lie in. I also had a snuggle with Grandpa too. Aren't the Grandparents great! In the morning we went off to the doctors, who pronounced me with the sniffles! Unfortunately for Mummy, I will just have to see it through, but she is looking after me superbly, so hopefully I will be on the mend in no time!

Swimming with Nanna
This morning we popped over to Doncaster Shoppingtown ... Mummy says it has GROWN lots since she was last there. Lots of new shops to explore ... but don't worry Daddy, Mummy was very restrained and didn't buy anything (this time) ...
The real treat though was this afternoon, when Mummy and Nanna took me to Aquarena for a swim! Mummy bumped into someone she used to work with a long time ago, luckily the name came to her just in time ...
I really enjoyed the swim, it was fun playing with Nanna and Mummy!

Surprise!

Today Mummy and I arrived in Melbourne! What a big surprise it was for everyone! Let's start at the beginning ...
On Saturday my visa arrived, which now meant I could come and go from the UK and be let in again. So, as Mummy and Daddy had planned, Mummy and I were going to make a surprise trip back to Melbourne. It would work out well, because Daddy was going to be away again for 8 days for work, and Mummy wouldn't have to be home alone.
So after searching for the best deal on Saturday, on Sunday Mummy booked our tickets to Australia and was then frantically getting everything organised for our trip to leave on Tuesday night! That included shopping for some presents, getting Autie Serena and Auntie Catherine in on the surprise and co-ordinating things from the Melbourne end and sorting out bits and pieces at home as well! Mummy didn't sleep well Sunday night thinking of all the things to be done!
Daddy left work early on Tuesday, spent some time with Mummy and me and then took us out to the airport that night. We were hoping to grab a coffee with Daddy, but unfortunately that terminal didn't have a cafe before security. Mummy and I waved goodbye to Daddy, and that is where she had to cope with me alone! I tried to be very good for her!
We got on the plane, and Mummy was relieved to be sitting next to a couple also with a baby. She was so worried then if I made a bit of noise on the flight. However, I was very good on the takeoff, and then dropped off to sleep and slept the whole way from Manchester to Dubai! We had a short stop over in Dubai, and then it was back on the plane all the way to Melbourne. I slept on and off during the flight, and according to Mummy, slept pretty much as per my normal routine. The airhostesses were lovely, and even took my photo and gave me a puppet to keep!
Auntie Catherine was waiting for us at the airport. It was very early in the morning, but it was UK nighttime, and I was getting very grumpy because I hadn't slept for a while. I still managed to greet her with lots of smiles, but I did start to get a bit tired on the way to Nanna and Grandpa Perry's house. And that is where the suprises started ...
Grandpa was still in bed, we gave him a surprise, he exclaimed, and Nanna was then asking what the matter was from the shower. So we surprised her a well!! We spent the day at Nanna and Grandpa Perry's catching up on some sleep, and then in the afternoon we went to Grandma and Grandpa Mahar's house. Grandma Mahar was in shock when she answered the door (speechless), and when Grandpa Mahar arrived home from work his eyes almost popped out of his head! Uncle Andy arrived from Sydney a little later on in the evening and he too was amazed!! Hoorah, the surprise was a success! I also met Auntie Serena and Uncle Anthony, and my cousin Patrick. We both had fun playing and giggling on the floor!
PS. Mummy also wants to wish Daddy a Happy 3 years for yesterday!

A Night Out ...
... without me! What were they thinking??
Well, Mummy and Daddy got their first relaxing night out last night since I was born, so I guess 4.5 months in it was time! Through an agency they arranged a lovely nanny named Shelley to look after me. She played with me for a little while, then fed and popped me to bed. I was very well behaved of course!
Mummy and Daddy went out to celebrate their anniversay, which is on Wednesday. 3 years gone already - phew! They were going to go bowling, but since Daddy wasn't feeling great, they just went out for dinner, and then a lovely stroll along one of the canals in Warrington - making the most of the long days and a balmy evening!
Yesterday we did a spot of shopping, and Daddy picked out some new clothes for me. I am going to be a spunky girl all dressed in .... GREEN!
Mummy meanwhile is still attempting to get me interested in tennis, and we have watched the women's and men's Wimbledon finals together. The mens was the best, Roddick and Federer fought hard. I missed my bath because both Mummy and Daddy were so enthralled in the final set!

And then the rains came ...
... and boy did it come down fast! We got very wet on our way to the car today after Baby Sensory class. The temperature dropped a bit with the rain, but in the afternoon the sun came out again, and we thought the humidity might return. It seems for the moment though that there is going to be a bit of a cool spell. Mummy made the most of the opportunity to cool the house down, and had all the windows open! The air conditioner was doing the trick in my room, and Mummy and Daddy have even moved it into their room a couple of times. Make sleeping much more pleasant!
Yesterday Mummy met up with her friend Ricky from Melbourne. We took a trip into Wales to meet her and her 10 month old son Xanthe. We had a lovely walked around a country park. After a while I got very sleepy and had a nap, but they kept on nattering! They worked out it was almost 3 years to the day that they last saw each other.

This week Mummy and I have also been enjoying watching Wimbledon. The finals are coming up this weekend, so I am sure the afternoons will involve some tennis! We watched a particularly good match between Hewitt and Roddick. Unfortunately our countryman lost, but we are now cheering on Roddick in the final!
On Wednesday I had another weigh-in. More for curiosity as Mummy and Daddy can see I am putting on the weight now! Daddy even reackons I might be developing a bit of a pot belly! Mummy and Daddy also say I have thunder thighs, but I really think that is a bit unkind ... it is just some padding for when I start to learn to walk and fall over all the time!! Hehehe!
Daddy has gone to bed early tonight as he is not feeling well. Mummy is hoping he is feeling better quickly, as they have organised a babysitter for tomorrow night so that they can have a night out on their own!

Playtime with Daddy
Phew wee, it was warm today! Mummy was on a mission to find us a mobile air conditioner, but so many of the stores had sold out. Eventually she found one that didn't cost an arm and a leg, well, maybe just an arm! But it should be worth it. It reached 29 deg C today outside, and 29 deg C in my room as well! How is a little girl to sleep? When Mummy and Daddy got it working tonight, the temperature dropped relatively quickly, although soon crept up again once it was off. Ah well, I am sure tomorrow we will get it to a much more even, sleepable temperature!
This summer weather is good though. Mummy takes me outside lots to have a good kick about, and today we met up with some of the NCT mummies to go for a walk around Pennington Flash, a big lake and Park not too far from home. Mummy says we will have to take Daddy there sometime too!
When Daddy came home from work, we had a play together. Hide and seek is so much fun, and Daddy plays it the best!

It was such a lovely morning, Mummy and I went outside. Mummy potted around in the garden tidying a few things up. Meanwhile, I was mesmerized by the trees ...

Happy Father's Day Daddy!
Today we got to celebrate Father's Day with Daddy!
I had a chat with Mummy about a present for Daddy, and we decided on a book (don't know when he'll have time to read it!), some chocolates and magazines! Lucky Daddy!
We were having a great weekend so far (our best in ages!), so we decided to head out for lunch! We were going to go to the Delamere Forest, but the bridge to cross the canal was shut, and we really thought it was a bit too grey and rainy for a walk, so ended up at a pub! They both filled themselves up on the pub food, that we almost had to roll ourselves home!

I was tempted with Mummy's meal - I have had such a hungry week this week, it has been difficult for them to fill me up. But, they did decide it was a little too early for me to be having chicken pie, so I got my bottle of milk instead!

We've got wheels!
Today we went on a big family shopping trip, and now Mummy and I have our very own car! Hoorah, there will be no stopping us during the week now! We are the proud owners of a new used Citroen Xsara. Mummy thinks the name is very appropriate for her!
The man who sold us the car was very nice, and took Daddy on a long test drive. Mummy and I waited back in the car and had a snooze together!
A deposit has been paid, now we just have to wait until he can deliver it to us during the week!

Say Cheese!
Click!Mummy finally caught me smiling for the camera!
It has been such a smiley day today, I am feeling good! My pain is going away now, and I am enjoying playing with Mummy and getting out and about!
Today we went to the Aquanatal class. Mummy did the class while I watched from the side of the pool. I was meant to be asleep, but there was just too much going on! Afterwards Mummy took me into the toddlers pool and we had a great swim. I am even enjoying putting my head underneath the water now! I can't wait until we go again! Maybe Daddy might take me on the weekend ...

My Hospital Visit
Well, the baby doctor had given me some medication for my reflux, but it just wasn't kicking in. Mummy was at her wits end because I was in pain so much of the time. So after talking with the baby doctor again on Monday, Mummy took me into hospital yesterday to be observed while feeding. Well, yesterday was still not a good day, and after fighting Mummy so much while feeding she decided she was just going to stick with the bottles. The doctor on duty also decided that the best thing for them was to observe me overnight, and give Mummy and Daddy a much needed rest!
Mummy and Daddy went home to get me some more clothes, and then came back to say good night. I got a good cuddle from Daddy and then they left to go out for dinner at David Lloyd. Rumour has it they talked about me a lot, but then after dinner they had a rare treat of going in the pool together and having a spa!
Today Mummy came in, and found me in the play room wooing all the nurses (and another Mum) with my winning smile!! I finally got some more sleep during the night, the pain was starting to go and I was feeling much better! Just seems like we needed to give the medication a little time to kick in.

We got to go home this afternoon, and it was good to be back! Lots of cuddles from Mummy and Daddy!

Daddy's home!
Yay, Daddy arrived back home on Friday night! Another successful trip for him. I was so excited to have him back that I didn't want to go to sleep! Ha ha. I just wanted to be close to Daddy, and eventually I ended up in the sling! And here Mummy was telling Daddy how good I had been all week (well, once the warm weather eased off!).
After the week of warm weather, it turned cold and wet this weekend. Brrr. Oh well, we got to do lots of indoor activities! Mummy has been giving me lots of tummy time, but I haven't been able to roll over again - it is quite tricky!
We did watch the French Open finals (Mummy is loving the new TV), but both finals were rather disappointing. Daddy is looking forward to watching Wimbledon next ... not too far away!
Daddy also went out and bought me a new top - I am sure I will look very funky in it! I am a lucky girl!
Mummy went back to swimming training tonight ... the first training session, in, oh, about 9 months! She said it felt good to be back swimming hard, but I think she will be feeling it tomorrow! I hope she will have enough energy to play with me!

More Tummy Time
Here I am playing on my mat! I am trying to roll over again, but not much success this time around!
I am now starting to enjoy playing with my toys too ...
Mummy was happy with me again today. Since it cooled off yesterday (and most importantly in my room too) I was able to sleep much better last night, and slept the whole night through (hoorah!) With a full nights' sleep under my belt (or should I say nappy??) I was soo much happier today. We also had a day at home, and I got time to play on my mat and generally have a good kick about!
Auntie Ellie popped over for a drink in the afternoon. I had a bit of a fit while Mummy was trying to feed me. We saw the baby doctor yesterday (the p-word is too difficult for a girl my age to spell) about my reflux, and he has given me some MORE medicine. I don't think it has started to work just yet, because I was still feeling very uncomfortable. Mummy thought Ellie look a bit uncomfortable at one stage, and although she is not due to go 'pop' for another week yet Mummy thought things might be starting! Arrgh. Lucky for Mummy it was just the baby kicking about! Phew, not panicked phone calls to Uncle Paul just yet!
We have been watching a bit of the tennis this week. Today we watched the women's semi final of the French Open, and I got to see fellow compatriot Sam Stosur. Unfortunately she lost, but Mummy said I should take some tips from her. I think Mummy is hoping to travel the world with me while I become a big tennis star!! Hehehe!
Daddy is home tomorrow -yipee!

Feeling hot, hot, hot!
Oh my golly gosh, oh what a night! Phew, not much sleep was had all round, it was sooo hot! The temperature in my room peaked at 28 deg C. How is a little girl supposed to keep herself cool!
Mummy pulled out the moses basket once more, and I started off in her room because it was cooler in there. Unfortunately I am getting to big for the moses basket, and kept waking myself up with my arms hitting the side. So then Mummy put me back in my room, but it was still too warm! After waking (again) at 3:15am for the second time, Mummy stripped me down to my nappy. But I STILL couldn't sleep ... eventually I dropped off again at about 5:45am and Mummy finally got back to bed ... but not for long, it got too much for me and I woke up again at 6:30am. Boy, were Mummy and I a grumpy pair that morning!! Mummy was certainly wishing Daddy was at home to help out!
I did at least get some sleep throughout the day though. Mummy met up with her friends at United Utilities, and we all went for a walk. I was a good girl and slept through the walk. I gave them all a few smiles though when we had a rest!
Later, Mummy made a much needed stop at Asda, and we now have a fan! Fingers crossed the sleeping conditions will be better for me tonight!

And the little one said ....
... roll over, roll over!
I did it! Hoorah!! Well, just from my front to back, but it is a start! Mummy was so chuffed with me, I got lots of big smiles and words of encouragement!
Daddy left again this morning for another work trip. This time to Baku, somewhere near Russia (actually, closer to Turkey, now that Mummy has looked up where it is). He had a very early morning start, up at 4am to get his plane. I decided to make it an even earlier start, and woke up at 3am (and then 5:30am) ... so much for my week (5 days!!) of sleeping through the night! We are looking forward to him coming back on Friday already!
It was a lovely sunny and warm day today, so in the afternoon Mummy and I went for another swim. I love my new swimming seat ... I can still look around at everything and kick my legs at the same time! There weren't many people in the indoor pool, as they were all enjoying the sunny weather in the outdoor pool. Mummy didn't want to get my skin burnt.
The warm weather started on Friday, and we have been enjoying it ever since. Yesterday we all took a walk to The Ferry again. No beers for Daddy this time, just a quiet soft drink all round! Well, a sip of milk for me! On Friday Mummy and I went out with Auntie Vicky. It was soo warm I just slept in my pram while they nattered over lunch!

Daddy's new TV
Well, it finally arrived ... Daddy's sparkly new TV!
Mummy missed the delivery last Friday (at Baby Sensory class) and Tuesday (hanging washing on the line) and Daddy was not happy!! Mummy had to go out on Wednesday afternoon, and was worried she was going to miss it again when the tv hadn't arrived before she left. Thankfully it arrived once she was home!
37" screen ... golly is it big ... we can even see the sweat beads on the tennis players (Mummy found the French Open was on). If it were any bigger, we would need a bigger lounge room!
Well done Daddy for saving for 8 months!

I did it! I did it! I slept through the night without a peep!
Mummy and Daddy have been showering me with kisses today, so I must have done something good. Hoorah!

Almost, Almost, Almost ...
... slept through the night last night - hoorah! Mummy says almost 3 times, because that is the number of times she got up to check on me. Apparently I was crying in my sleep, but when she popped the dummy in my mouth, I was nice and quiet again!
So, almost a full night sleep for us all!

Another Bank Holiday and My First BBQ ...
Well, it was another Bank Holiday today, so Daddy was at home again! Hoorah! Although today marks the end of his holidays for a while. He has been taking the past few Mondays and Tuesdays off, and it has been great having him around the house. At least he is easing himself back into work with a 4 day week ... although a 5 day week next week might be tough!
Since it was a lovely sunny day, Mum and Dad decided to have a BBQ with their neighbours, Auntie Vicki, Uncle Phil and Annabel and Pat. They wheeled their snazzy BBQ over so that Annabel and Pat could run about in our backyard. In true English fashion there was a few spots of rain as we started eating. Luckily it wasn't too much and didn't spoil the BBQ! My first BBQ!
Yesterday was an even better day - apparently the top temperature for the year so far (fingers crossed it gets warmer!). Mummy and Daddy went out with the Egans again, this time down to The Ferry pub on the banks of the Manchester Canal. We were all able to sit outside and enjoy the lovely sunny weather! Daddy also enjoyed a couple of pints!

On Saturday Mummy got to have her 'Ladies Timeout' treatment that Daddy gave her for her birthday. She said that it was very relaxing, and almost fell asleep during the massage! Daddy and I went shopping so that I could buy Mummy her present ... we found a lovely bracelet! After meeting up with Mummy, we went to the market to stock up on some fresh meat, and then we treated ourselves to lunch. What a nice way to spend a Saturday!

3 Months in, and ...
Happy Birthday Mummy
Well it seems my beautiful mummy is another year older, that must make her 25 or so... I don't know, it all seems pretty old to a little girl of 3 months. Daddy brought mummy an excellent present, a 1 hour facial and massage combo to help her relax and indulge. I had big plans to go shopping and buy mummy a present but Daddy was disorganised with getting me to the shops, so we are going this Saturday. Not sure what I'm going to get yet??? Any ideas?
Mummy's B'day was a relaxing day given that she was quite sick. She went to Auntie Vicky's for coffee and then dad and her watched a movie with a celebratory pizza. I also cuddled up to her nice and feel asleep contentedly in her arms.

Growing big & strong like Daddy
Well I had another weigh in today and the result is good. I've gained another 9 oz this week, which shows I'm growing up big & strong. Daddy has also described me as Angelic over the last week ... all this extra food and not to mention the Colic medication is making me super happy & playful. I'm just enjoying playing on my mat and being around Mummy & Daddy.

Month 4 Photo Link
Here is the link for the Month 4 Photos. We will keep this updated as the month rolls on, so keep checking this link out.
3 Months Old!
Here we are at the end of another month! Time is rocketing by!
Daddy has gone to London today to process my passport at the Australian Embassy. Hopefully they'll accept me! Then maybe we might get a trip to Australia ...
Mummy and I meanwhile have been keeping ourselves busy at home. We took advantage of having the car and did a spot of shopping! We kept ourselves in check, although we are a bad influence on each other!! Two girls off shopping together ...

Busy Weekend!
Mummy and Daddy sure know how to wear out a little girl ... and themselves!
Yesterday we went for another swim. It was very noisy because it was the weekend and there were lots of people in the pool. I did not like all the commotion as much. We saw some friends there, and they had a special seat for their son. Mummy and Daddy liked this, and have bought me one now too - I am looking forward to trying it out during the week!
Today Mummy was up at the crack of dawn, and it wasn't because I woke her ... we had a busy day planned!
First up we had a trip into Manchester, so Daddy could run the Great Manchester 10 km Run ... along with 30,000 odd other people! Mummy had to watch with me, which she found strange. This time last year she was running with Daddy! Daddy did well, running in just over 45 mins!

Then we went back to Warrington, and because we didn't have time to go home, we had lunch at KFC - yum!! I got to have some lunch too, and Daddy made a quick dash to bathrooms to change out of his smelly running clothes! It was then off to meet up with our friends from the NCT antenatal classes, and meet all the babies! It was lovely to meet them all and hear how they were all doing! Seems like I am not the only trouble maker!!
We got home after 5pm, which was just enough time for my bath and dinner. Then I was oh so tired that I just fell asleep straight away!

Rocking about
This morning was a busy one; after my morning nap we went to a Mum's and Tots group, and on the way home Mummy signed me up at the library, and I borrowed my first book (well, Mummy did for me!). We spent the afternoon playing at home, and for the first time I was able to make the music playing on my rocker! Mummy was so proud!

Well it seems like Daddy is a computer guru as he has turned on the Comments feature! Now anyone can leave a comment on my Blog. Let me know you care .... Lexi.
Splashing about
Daddy had the day off again, and so in the afternoon we all met at David Lloyd (Mummy and I were out for coffee with other Mums). First Mummy and Daddy enjoyed a nice relaxing lunch while I snoozed in my pram, we had such a busy morning! After lunch Mummy and Daddy took me swimming - it was Daddy's first time he had been swimming with me. They sneaked this photo of me ... not meant to have cameras in the pool area!

We all went in the pool. Mummy and Daddy took turns with me, while I kicked about on my front and back! It was such tiring work, that I was pooped when I was finished!

I Am, You Are, We Are Australian
Que the Qantas ad ... "we share a dream, and sing in one voice, I am , you are, we are Australian!"
Well, this is the song Mummy sang to me after Postman Pat (note, not his real name, and rudely arrived at 7:30am, lucky that Mummy was already up) came this morning. My application for Australian citizenship has been granted! Now we just have to apply for my passport, and then my UK visa ... then I will be a Little Miss of the world! Daddy has to go to Edinburgh to apply for my passport, which he will do in the next week.

Phew, what a class
Well, Friday again, and Baby Sensory class. I was so alert at the beginning and we were so busy; we sang and signed, played maracas and chimes, made teddies fly, did the hokey pokey and we ... fell asleep! Right at the end I passed out ... there was just so much going on it was tiring for a little girl! I just fell asleep where I was lying, watching the stary material floating above me! I then continued to have a good nap while Mummy had coffee. It is tough for some!!

11 Weeks
Today I am 11 weeks old. Golly gosh, how time flies! Good news today ...
Mummy took me to the health centre today to be weighed; this week I put on 10 oz!! That is double my previous best (last week), and rocketed me up to 8lb 9oz! Mummy was so happy, she had a big smile on her face and couldn't wait to tell Daddy, who was chuffed too! Chris, the health visitor was also very pleased and said I had turned a corner now, and it would just be onwards and upwards from now on. I was also back on the growth charts - hoorah!
Yesterday we went on saw the nice doctor man. He prescribed me some medicine for my colic (the same stuff Mummy was giving me, now she just gets it for free) and also some other medicine for reflux. I have been bringing up lots of the golden nectar lately (i.e. Mummy's milk) and this is meant to help. It seems to have helped so far - well, my clothes stayed cleaner for longer today at least anyway, and Mummy thinks I was even more settled today.
But, that could also be from all the food she has been giving me. We are trying to increase her milk by feeding all the time. Yesterday we watched 'Australia' while I was feeding on and off throughout the afternoon. It was a rather dismal movie, even with Hugh Jackman to look at. Ah well!

May Day Bank Holiday
Daddy's cousins (my second cousins??), Jess and Gordie, came up from London for a visit this weekend. They arrived on Friday night, just as I was going to bed. I showed them what a good baby I was, and slept through until 4:30am! Mummy was very happy because she got some more sleep! On Saturday night I was good up until 2:20am, and then I just wanted feeding or cuddles on and off every 1 or 2 hours ... Mummy wasn't so happy then!! I got lots of cuddles from Jess, but I was a little scared of Gordie - I pulled funny faces and cried when he held me. Perhaps it was because he spoke in a funny Scottish accent? Anyway, it was nice to have them come up and visit Mummy and Daddy!
Today is a bank holiday, so Daddy is home - hoorah! He went shopping and got a bit excited in Mothercare!! He bought me some bathtime toys and my first dress! He bought a suit as well, but it a bit small, so he has told Mummy she has to exchange it for a bigger size (he doesn't like doing that sort of stuff). Mummy decided to put all the toys in the bath, and she could squirt me and do all funny sorts of things with them! Really though, Daddy thought just a couple would be enough!
I am going through a growth spurt at the moment, and I am hungry, hungry! Mummy is having a day at home just to feed me up well and good! Daddy went out tonight to get her some DVD to watch while she is feeding me. Sounds like a tought day all round!
Daddy has taken tomorrow off as well, and Mummy and I are both looking forward to having him around!

What a good girl!
Today we had another Baby Sensory class. It wasn't on last week because Laura was at a training course. I got so many comments on what a good girl I was this week! Mummy was really happy because I got through the whole class without crying. Having this colic thing sorted and getting more food really has helped to keep me happy!

My First Swim
Today Mummy and I walked to David Lloyd where Mummy took me to the Ducklings swimming class (for babies and toddlers). First up I had a nice big drink, and then we went swimming ...
Mummy popped on my swim nappy and my hot pink bathers (courtesy of Nanna and Grandpa Perry). I was the funkiest baby in the pool (ok, and one of the only babies, but who is counting!). We only went in the baby pool, because it is warmer than the big pool - think we'll have to save that up for when I have some more fat on me! I did some floating/kicking on my back and front. Mummy was of course holding me. We swayed about in the water and Mummy had some toys that she could squirt water with. It got a bit rocky when some of the toddlers joined us in the pool, but by then we had been in a while, so Mummy and I got out.
After the swim I had another first - my first shower! I liked the water spraying on me and gave Mummy lots of smiles. Even though Mummy wrapped me up, once we went into the changerooms it got very cold. I cried a bit until Mummy got me nice and warm and gave me some more to drink!
We then walked home again - and got back just before it started to rain! Phew, I didn't need to get wet again!
Daddy is looking forward to going swimming with me next week sometime now as well!

Cat got your tongue?
On Wednesday one of the breast feeding midwives noticed that I was tongue-tied. She thought this might explain my slow weight gain because it prevents proper feeding. It seems like I take after my father, he can't get his tongue past his lips!
The long and the short of it was that she got me a referral to a lactation specialist, and today I got my tongue snipped! Well, not really my tongue, the frenulum (the stringy bit underneath) snipped so that I could move my tongue more. This means more milk for me, and that I will be able to stick my tongue out at other kids in the playground! Hoorah!
It was all relatively painless, 'cos the nerves aren't developed there yet. There was just a spot of bleeding, but this was stopped immediately when I was put on Mummy's boob for a feed (something to do with the pressure it creates inside the mouth). I've now had several good milky feeds today and I am content cuddling with my Daddy.

Ouch!
Today was my first round of immunisations. Arrrgh!!
2 BIG needles in each thigh. Mummy had to hold me tight while they were done, she said my face went bright red before I started to cry. I guess the good part about it though was that I got some lovely big cuddles from Mummy afterwards! I think I was pretty brave really ...

I a big girl now ...
No more moses basket for me, Mum and Dad have decided that it is time that I go in the cot. I was just getting too long for it! It seems sooo much bigger than the moses basket, but now I can look at my mobile whenever I like!
