Today Daddy's turn to sleep in, which was just as well, because I think he got in quite late last night! Well, Mummy did have her turn the night before! However, we didn't let Daddy sleep in too long, because we had to all get ready for Mummy's run; Daddy and I were the support crew!
Mummy had decided a week or so ago that she needed to do this run to give herself a bit of a push to get fit. She last did the Birchwood run 2 years ago with a team from work, so the benchmark was set! Apparently this is how the run went:
Start: feeling nervous, off quickly
1 km mark: paced slowed down a bit, this is going to be a long run
2 km mark: only 2 km done???
4 km mark: time for a brisk walk
5 km mark: half way, but still have the same distance to go ... oh dear!
7 km mark: getting there, but there is still a hill to go
9 km mark: almost, almost ...
9.9 km mark: "Lexi, Lexi" (I did not notice the feeble cry as she ran past)
10 km mark: oh thank god
Mummy was pretty knackered afterwards, but Daddy did a good job looking after her, and me!! Mummy stumbled in about 15 mins on her previous time, which goes to show what having a baby and only running a handful of times in the past year does to you! I wonder how she will pull up tomorrow!

Mummy was only 15 minutes slower... that sounds amazing to me... after the past year, I think that's pretty fast still. You have an amazing mum Lexi.... although it looks like you won't be far behind considering your progress in the bouncer... your legs seem to be getting much stronger...
