Settling In

4 days into our holiday in Turkey now and we are really settling in! Mummy and Daddy have been catching up on their sleep, taking it in turns to have lie-ins, and then later in the morning we are off doing things! The weather has also been lovely, 30-35 deg C every day. We’ve now adjusted to the heat, and try and cool off at least a couple of times a day!

We have been to the nearby village, Turunc a few times, to have a look around and stock up on some food. It seems not too busy, but a nice amount of people around (although just off the height of the main season, we think it might get pretty busy). A good thing that, because the drive into the village is on a fairly narrow and very windy road, and best not to be meeting too many people on!

View of Turunc from our resort

This morning we went in to Turunc to have a swim. Mummy and Daddy bought me a special duck float, ‘cos they know how much I like ducks! We then went down to the beach to; we found our special sun lounges to lie on, and then got ready for the water. I was quiet keen to get changed, but it was all a bit strange; I wasn’t really sure of all the pebbles on the ground, and the water was very salty. We persevered for a little while, but then Mummy and Daddy decided enough was enough and we went for a walk in the town instead.

When I got up from my nap, I saw my swimming shorts, and I was determined to go swimming NOW! Daddy and I had some fun in the children’s pool while Mummy did some laps of her own in the big pool!

Later in the afternoon I met a new friend, Charlotte, who is the same age as me ... I think we may get up to some mischief together! Mummy has arranged for us to meet at a new beach area tomorrow, looking forward to it!

.... Hello Turkey!

3rd September. The day we left the UK. My home and birthplace ... but we are now off on another adventure ... 4 weeks holidays in Turkey, Germany and Austria before we head to Melbourne and our new home.

We were up bright and early (4:15am) for our flight this morning, but when we got to the airport we found out that our flight was delayed by a couple of hours ... so off for some strong coffee for Mummy and Daddy and some porridge for us all. I found a girl to play with in the kids play area. She was very chatty and liked looking at my family photo album!

I was very good on the flight ... after all the waiting I was very tired and slept for about an hour. I woke up in time for our second breakfast, and then read some books, played with my ‘In The Night Garden’ magnetic set and stickers!! Stickers and magnets are sooo much fun! We arrived in Turkey to bright blue skies and warm weather ... we were all a bit over dressed! We picked up the hire car and were off to the resort. The first three quarters of the drive was relatively easy, but then things got windy and steep ... Daddy did very well, although he was pretty knackered by the time we got to the resort.

Unfortunately our apartment wasn’t ready when we arrived, and we had to wait for a couple of hours. Thankfully they gave us a free dinner which we had while we waited. Mummy and Daddy had a well deserved beer, but they only gave me water and milk. They said the food was yummy, but I was only interested in the grapes and my drinks. We will be eating there for the next couple of nights, so I look forward to trying it then!

Bye Bye ....

Today was our last full day in the UK. Mummy and Daddy left me in nursery so that they could finish up all the cleaning and tidying up of the house. There were lots to do ... and that was after all the work they had already done over the past few days (gardening, painting, cleaning, and then some more cleaning)!

At nursery I said good-bye to all my friends there. We even took some yummy chocolates in for everyone that looked after me, although I was a little reluctant to hand them over!! Clara, one of my friends, was nice and came up to me on the way out and gave me a big hug. I gave Mike, my key carer, a big hug too. I will miss him, my friends and everyone that looked after me there.

A Busy Month ...

Click here for all the August photos.

What a busy month this has been ... our last in the UK!

The month started off with a visit from Daddy's cousin Jessica, and her husband Gordie and their son Callum. I was not in the best mood when they arrived on the Saturday, Mummy was trying to put me down for a nap, but I would just not have it! After a lot of crying, Mummy and Daddy gave in and let me get up! We went for a walk in the afternoon, and Daddy bought me a pack of In the Night Garden stickers ... I've found my new passion!! It keeps me entertained for a while ...

Sticker fun with Daddy and Jess

Telling Callum about the ways of the world

We all had fun that weekend, although it was the start of a terrible period of teething, where I had 4 new teeth pop through. Golly gosh, we were all a bit knackered at the end of it!

For the rest of the month, it was getting things ready ... we found a new home for Costa, but he was a boomerang cat, and so he is coming back to Australia with us! I've learnt to say Costa's name now, and I am looking forward to having him as a pet again in Melbourne!

On the 22nd August (Happy Birthday Auntie Catherine) Mummy and Daddy did the Birchwood 10 km Run (in Warrington) for the last time. Between them they've done it every year for the past 4 years. Mummy was a bit nervous because when she did it last year she wasn't very fit and felt awful for the rest of the day; but she is much fitter now, and ran about 8 mins faster than last year and finished with a smile ... well, let's say she did anyway! Dadddy did well too! I spent the morning playing with William, we had such fun, but wore Lindy and Mike out looking after us!

Mummy finished work on the 26th August, and Daddy on the 27th August. Our last weekend in the UK was here ... the cars were sold on ebay, things were being sorted and there were people to visit! On Friday Mummy treated me to a 'coffee' (milk only) at Starbucks ...

Afterwards it was off to get my haircut, but second time around I wasn't as well behaved. I had Jimmy, the hairdresser, sitting on the floor trying to cut my hair! He he!! Then it was off swimming, and time to say goodbye to Lindy and William. In the afternoon we picked up Daddy from work and then went to the park. We had to run back to the car to escape the rain, but we were off to meet up with Ellie, Paul and Sam. We ended up staying the night at their place so Mummy and Daddy could have a couple of extra drinks!

Causing trouble with Sam in the restaurant...

We said goodbye to Costa on Sunday, as Daddy took him to the special people who will transfer him to Australia ... so good-bye for about 1.5-2 months. Mummy and Daddy were busy with tidying, cleaning, renovations, gardening, packing ... our neighbours Vicky and Annabelle looked after me for an afternoon and I had lots of fun with them.

Phew, off on our travels soon ...

Bye Bye Mummy!

I am having so much for at nursery at the moment, that Mummy needn't hang around a moment to long. For example, today I ran in and started playing with Oliver and the toys, and then when Mummy wanted a hug goodbye, I obliged, but then waved bye-bye to Mummy and pointed to the door for her to go. I think she got the message!

Puzzling things out ...

I made a mess this morning ... but I was having a great time. I'm getting the hang of this shape sorting business ...

This morning I had some time with Mummy, while we let Daddy sleep in. We went to the farm shop for our weekly fruit and vegetables. Mummy even let me walk around today ... I followed her while nibbling on a mushroom (yum yum), however when I made a quick dash for the play house Mummy decided it was time to put me in the trolley! He he, I can be cheeky! We also went to the library, I found a couple more books to borrow. Because I had been a good girl, we went to the bakery for a treat in the form of an apple danish ... way better than the mushroom!

In the afternoon we went for a visit to Chester. The sun started to come out, which made a nice change from thee rain we'd been having recently. After looking around for a bit, we went to the main gardens where I got to have a run around (and run away from Daddy), and then we went down to the river for a cream tea treat ...

Tonight we are letting Mummy have the night off, and she is going out with some of her girl friends. We are even going to let her have a sleep in too! I'll try and give Daddy a sleep in too, not the 6am start I gave Mummy today!

Monday Antics

Well, it has been a full week off nursery now, and today was my final day with Mummy. After another big sleep in (this cold is still knocking me about) I was up in time to see the real estate lady come take photos that she can use to rent our house. I was trying me best to get in the photos (isn't that what a camera is for??) but Mummy kept pulling me out of the way!

After a quick breakfast, we then headed off to Jellybeans to meet up with my friend Thomas and his younger brother William. It is such a FUN place, so many things to do that I just can't keep still ... and I wear Mummy out in the process! Here I am climbing over things, I make it difficult for myself by carrying things where ever I go these days!

In the afternoon we had a few chores to do, post office and Mothercare. Mummy couldn't find what she wanted at Mothercare, but she did take me up to the toy section. It was ace, they left out loads of toys for me to play with ... I showed Mummy an In the Night Garden toy that I thought looked cool, but Mummy said no and so I had to put it back on the shelf (and I did it too!). In the end Mummy had to drag me away kicking and screaming (note from Mummy, almost literally too, thankfully the buttons in the lift kept her amused!).

Mummy was nice though, she did let me have a go on a ride while at Mothercare ...

Back at home, we had 2 sets of visitors to check out the house! That was quick! Mummy is hoping one of them will want to rent it (second set please!), and then she won't have to keep the house constantly clean! He he, I always do a good job of messing things up anyway ... Hurricane Lexi they sometimes call me ...

Out and About

Ah, Sunday already! The last couple of days have gone quickly!

On Friday Mummy took me to the doctor because my cough was getting worse, and well it turns out it wasn't chicken pox after all (probably just my eczema again) but I did have a chest infection. So on to the antibiotics again ... I seem to be picking up again. The good news with this is that it means my quarantine has been lifted by Mummy and I can go and play around other kids! Hoorah!! Friday afternoon was sooo much fun at David Lloyd, I was running about everywhere!!

Yesterday I spent some quality with Daddy, while Mummy got the garden in tip top condition for the rental photos on Monday. It was a rare break of no rain. Daddy took me to the park (the slide is the BEST) and for a treat at the bakery! Lucky me (and Daddy)! Saturday night we all went around to Brian and Alison's for dinner. Well, I was meant to be sleeping, but it was just way too exciting. They have a big labrador called Lance, he was quite an interesting character. Brian found some of his daughters old toys for me to play with, but after starters Mummy and Daddy said enough was enough and I had to go to bed! I still protested a little ...

Lucky for Mummy and Daddy, I continued of my good for of late and slept in until 9:20am. It gave them a little time to recover from their hangovers :)

In the afternoon we went to Delamere Forest for a walk. It was a lovely peaceful area, lots of tall trees. I alternated between walking and resting in the pram, it can be tiring this walking caper! After our walk we went to the Stretton Fox for dinner. Both Mummy and Daddy got the Sunday (lamb) roast which was tasty ... I stole lots of food and had a real good fill :)

Spending Time with Mummy

Because of the chickenpox, I've been off nursery all week. I've been very tired and sleeping lots, but not too much scratching or spots. Mummy has still been doing lots of fun things with me! Yesterday we made some play doh; I liked eating it and so we stopped playing with it because Mummy was concerned with the amount of salt in it!

Cutting out shapes in the play doh

Today we did some baking:

Oh Dear, What Can The Matter Be ...

Today Mummy discovered one spot on me, and then another, and then another ... we went off to get it checked out, and we've found out that I have chickenpox .... oh no!

But on the plus side, I get a whole lot of Mummy's company while we wait for all the spots to come out and heal! The down side is that we have painters around, so the lounge room is going to seem very small very quickly tomorrow ... just as well tomorrow is their last day!

In The Night Garden

What a surprise, this morning Mummy and Daddy were both up early (Mummy sacrificed her Sunday morning sleep in)! That is because last night they had arranged to take me to see a performance of In The Night Garden at Sefton Park in Liverpool. It was in a big dome tent, and we saw the Ninky Nonk show! It was ace, all my favourites were there, and I was entranced the whole way through!

After the show, Mummy and Daddy let me have a bit of a run around Sefton Park. Daddy did some aeroplanes with me, I was a little dizzy afterwards!

When we got home, it was time for a big nap after all the morning excitement! I was still buzzing, and didn't sleep so long. Mummy and Daddy decided to take me to the gym to burn off some of my energy! I needed to keep my fluids up with all the running around ... ahh!

Afterwards, it was time for a little running around at home. I am becoming a real lady of the house, and must go everywhere with my (or Mummy's) handbag!

Here is the start of the photos for July. Keep looking at this link, I'll be putting more on here.

So far we've covered France and some time around home. Sam and I are having fun playing together at his house!

Dinner Time

Daddy looked hungry, so I thought I would share with him some of my dinner ...

Yesterday Mummy had a parent-teacher night at nursery. They say I am lovely to look after, and they'll miss me when I go to my new room ... which I will be starting in next Tuesday! I'll get to catch up with some of my friends who moved up earlier. I'm especially looking forward to playing with Teya, although I hope Oliver will be moving up soon too (he's my boyfriend in the baby room!).

Happy Anniversary Mummy and Daddy!

Today is Mummy and Daddy’s 4th Anniversary. Jeez time flies, well so they say anyway. Daddy reackons it feels like a lot longer, and I’m not so sure if he means that is a good thing or a bad thing?? Well, at least he says it with a smile on his face!

To celebrate we took a trip to France over the weekend! Mummy found a good deal on some flights, and managed to convince Daddy that we should go! What fun we had! We went to a town called Bergerac. Mummy was also able to practice the French she had learnt at Warrington Collegiate last year and this year. I think she needs to learn a little more ...

Bergerac was a very pretty town. Mummy found us a great hotel in the centre of the old town which was close to everything. So we did lots of walking around the town. Mummy and Daddy made sure they wore me out good and proper, and let me play in the park and on the banks of the river. I also ran all about the place. Well, it did mean I slept very well each night, which they were thankful of!

Every morning we went to the local boulangerie (that's a bakery!) and we got fresh croissants and other delicious pastry delights for breakfast. None were as good as the first day though. I think if we'd been there for a 4th morning, we might not have had the same breakfast!

On Monday afternoon we went exploring a little into the area around Bergerac. We visited Chateau Monbazillac. Monbazillac grapes are particular to the region (the most well know type in the area, although there are 13 specialty types in the Bergerac region), and make a very nice wine which Mummy enjoyed sampling. Daddy preferred the French beer though! The chateau was fun, lots of big rooms for me to run around in, and I also had fun running around the gardens and amongst all the grapes!

On the final day we went to a nearby village. It was a lovely little village, but unfortunately not a whole lot to see ... we also arrived just as everything was closing for their afternoon nap time, but luckily there was one restaurant that was still open for orders! After lunch we found a park for me to play in, and then it was back to Bergerac, and back to the airport!

At the airport Mummy almost made a big mistake ... she had wine in her hand luggage ... oh no! Thankfully, and only just before the suitcase was about to disappear, she realised and was able to put it in the suitcase. Phew, she would've been very unhappy if she had to leave it behind!

A BIG June Update

Firstly, here is the link to my June photos.

June has been a BIG month!

On the 1st Grandpa and Nanna Perry arrived from Australia. I was a little uncertain at first, but after a few days I was much happier around them. They even picked me up early from nursery opne day and took me to the park. Aren't I a lucky girl!!

On their first weekend, they were heading down to South Wales, and Mummy and I decided to join them. We drove down slowly behind them, Mummy was a little tired from her and Daddy's night out on the Friday (to Roger and Michelle's wedding).

Mummy & Daddy on their night out! Looking funky!

On the way down to Wales, I needed to stretch my legs; we found a great park on the side of the road, and I had fun running around!

In Wales (we were near Carmarthen) we visited some castles (Mummy, Nanna and I did a big walk up a hill), and took a drive along the South Wales coast. Unfortunately the weather turned a bit nasty there, and we didn't get to see much 'cos it was so rainy and misty. So instead we went into a nice cosy pub and had a nice coffee. They all let me have some of their foam. Lucky me!

Me and my foamy mouth!

Mummy and I had to come back on Tuesday so Mummy could go back to work. Poor Mummy, but such is life!

Grandpa and Nanna arrived back on Saturday, for a couple of days before they headed off to Yorkshire. On Sunday they took us all to the Chester Zoo, and it was ace fun. By 2pm I was a worn out little girl, and could not resist the call of an afternoon nap. It was good timing really, as that was when it start to rain. I particularly loved looking at the penguins swimming and the apes. I even tried out being an ape, and Mummy tried to be a tortise ...

Father's Day (20th) was Grandpa and Nanna's last day with us. Nanna gave Mummy and Daddy a final lie-in, and I got to have the morning playing with her. We did some drawing, playing outside and with some balloons! I'll miss them when they are gone. When Mummy got up, we gave Daddy and Grandpa their Father's Day presents. Lucky men!! They both got some special mugs with my mug-shot (ha ha) on them!

Once we were all ready to go, we first off went to Marbury Country Park. It was lots of fun ... lots of big open spaces for me to run around in! On the way to the park, I spied a mandarin that Mummy had bought along for me. Although she didn't want me to eat it in the car, I had to take matters into my own hands!

We then went off to a nearby pub for some lunch. A bit of a tradition now, as it was where we went last Father's Day. It was a little different this time around though, because the sun was out and we were able to eat outside in the sun! Then it was our final good-byes to Grandpa and Nanna ... it was sad, although good to know that we will be seeing them in just a few short months.

After their visit, it was back to usual for us! Here I am having some fun playing outside in the garden. We've been having some lovely weather since mid-June, and I've had lots of time outside. Being outside is the best fun!

One Sunday morning I even did some painting ...

Mummy gave me my first haircut as well; now my curly locks at the back are gone! It all looks a lot neater now :) Mummy says it was a little scary giving me a haircut, and she wasn't going to give up her day job anytime too soon. She has left the cutting of the fringe for the hairdresser, which we will be visiting shortly!

There have been plenty of visits to the gym; I still love swimming and playing with all the toys there. We've been making the most of the sunny weather, and have visited various parks and gone on lots of walk! Phew, it has been a busy month!

A Long Weekend

Today was our second bank holiday for May – hoorah, an extra day of both Mummy and Daddy!!

Mummy let Daddy have a lie-in this morning, as he was off all Saturday and Sunday supporting their friend, Brian do a big run from Birmingham from London! Phew, what a long way to run (145 miles to be precise actually!). Then we headed off to David Lloyd so that I could have a play with their toys, and Mummy and Daddy could have a coffee! I had loads of fun going down the slide, and kept climbing up to the top again and again! I walked home with Daddy, while Mummy took a longer route home and ran it.

In the afternoon we went down to the Wacky Funhouse, where I really wore Mummy out with all the climbing, crawling, scampering up and down and fitting through tiny spaces! This car was ace, I didn’t want to leave!

But leave we did, and onward to The Ferry where we met with Mummy and Daddy’s friends Paul and Ellie, and my friend Sam! It has been a few weeks since we last saw them, and I was a little shy. I soon started giving everyone smiles though. Sam and I enjoyed playing on the grass, while our parents caught up!

Home Again

Today was a sad day, we had to pack up all our gear and fly back to the UK. It was so lovely to see everyone again, but it won’t be too long until we are back in Melbourne for good.

We had a nice few days back down in Thirroul to end off our holiday. Mummy and Daddy went for a swim in the ocean, everyone else thought they were crazy, it was too cold, but it was really quite mild for us! I had great fun playing on the sand, and Daddy even took me into the water as well! Uncle Andy came down to visit us as well, it was good because I hadn’t really had a chance to see him much. I also played lots with cousin Patrick too!

Ah, another long flight ... I am becoming an expert flier these days. Pity I don't qualify for frequent fliers!

Uncle Andy and Auntie Karen's Wedding

Not too much of a lie-in, I was up at 6:30 am! Mummy and I got busy getting ready, and then we were off to the Tea Ceremony at Uncle Andy and Auntie Karen’s place.

Click here for some of the wedding photos!

The Tea Ceremony was very busy. There were so many unfamiliar faces that I was a bit scared – I wouldn’t let anyone but Mummy or Daddy hold me. Mummy says her arms were very sore at the end of the morning!

Daddy looking dapper in his 'best man' suit! Mummy looks alright too :)

Uncle Andy had to prove he was a worthy suitor for Auntie Karen, he did lots of push-ups which I thought looked like a lot of hard work! Seems like he did prove his worth though, and they then continued on with the ceremony. The whole morning was lots of fun, but it wore me out. I needed a nap. Mummy took me back to Auntie Mel and Uncle Andy’s place where I spent the rest of the day. Cousin Lachlan and I had a lot of fun together!

Mummy says the rest of the day was lots of fun; what a shame I had to miss out. A very nice ceremony and lots and lots of lovely food ....

Happy Birthday Mummy!

Today Daddy and I gave Mummy a special treat. We let her have a lie-in! Mummy actually went back up to Sydney yesterday afternoon with Auntie Melissa and Lachlan. Auntie Mel and cousin Lachlan came down to visit us on the beach, we had lots of fun at the park and playing in the sand!

Daddy and I came up today with Grandma and Grandpa, so Mummy got to have the whole morning off and was spoilt by Auntie Mel; coffee and a big slice of chocolate cake! Yum yum!!

In the afternoon Daddy had to do wedding stuff with Uncle Andy, so I got to play with Mummy, Auntie Mel and Lachlan. We especially had great fun in the bath splashing about!

As an extra birthday treat for Mummy, I am going to try and have a big lie-in tomorrow morning!

I hear that Mummy is also to be spoilt by Auntie Mel and Uncle Andy tonight ... a good curry and French champagne!

Oh I do Like to be Beside the Seaside

After a morning of playing with Lachlan, and a quick trip to the park, we were off again. Thankfully Auntie Mel and Uncle Andrew lent us their Tom Tom, so no problems getting out of Sydney. This time we were off to Thirroul, where Grandma and Grandpa had rented a house for a couple of weeks. Well what a great location! It was right on the beach, with great views from the living room.

It is going to be a good few days down here!

We've Landed

A good day of flying, and we are now in Sydney. We arrived last night at 10pm, we were even an hour early! Auntie Karen (to be) came and picked us up, and after a quick bath and cuddle I was shipped off to bed. I had a good 7 hours sleep and gave Mummy and Daddy a small (7:30am) lie in.

The flying was fun, I was too excited on the first flight to get much sleep, much to Mummy and Daddy’s dismay. I did have fun walking and crawling up and down the isle and amusing other people on the flight with my antics. By the time we reached Dubai I was an exhausted little girl! A short stop over, and then we were on our next flight. Had a good sleep on Mummy, and then with Daddy, much to their relief.

Today Mummy and I attended Auntie Karen’s Bridal Luncheon. Well, I sleep through most of it, but did make an appearance towards the end. I was still a little tired and grumpy though. Afterwards we were off to stay at Auntie Melissa and Uncle Andrew’s house. I was so excited to get their when I saw all of Lachlan’s toys, and being able to play with Lachlan too. It was too long without someone my own age.

Off We Go Again ...

Yay, holiday time again ... so lots of time with Mummy and Daddy!! Today we are off on our 2 week trip to Sydney for Uncle Andy's wedding. Mummy and Daddy aren't looking forward to the flight, but I'm sure I'll surprise them with me stellar behaviour ...

An Afternoon in the Sunshine

This morning I had some time with Daddy, and he took me to the pool to go swimming. I love to go swimming! This afternoon it was Mummy's turn to look after me, and we had some fun outside!

Afterwards I needed a change of clothes ... I was very wet!

Mummy and Daddy went out for the evening, and Brian and Alison came over to look after me. I particularly enjoyed reading books with Alison, I called her up for some more stories a little later in the evening (thanks Alison!).

Mummy is Home!

Hoorah, Mummy is home! I was so excited to see her this morning, I was bouncing up and down in my cot when she came into my room.

Mummy was on a training course for work, so I got to spend all my time with Daddy (well, when I wasn't at nursery). I did my best to keep things busy for him, and even managed to get yoghurt all over his pants!! They'll need to see the dry cleaners now ... it was lovely having the time with Daddy, he makes me laugh!

Friday, 16 April 2010

I'm now mastering the art of coming down the stairs ...

... and rewarded with my afternoon snack in the spring sunshine!

This morning we walked to the gym and went for a swim. I got to play with William which is always fun! I was showing off and showing William some of my new moves!

Take a Walk on the Wild Side

I took my first group of steps at nursery today ... I tried to practice while no one was watching, but Vicki and Gemma caught me out! I felt very clever though!

I've decided though I'm not showing Mummy and Daddy just yet!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Hip hip horay!
Happy Birthday Daddy!

Mummy and I did our best to spoil Daddy ... a lie-in, breakfast with freshly brewed coffee, presents (the fun bit, I liked playing with the paper), bacon and eggs for lunch ... who could ask for more?? And of course there was also our day yesterday!

In the afternoon we went to a party with all our NCT friends. We celebrated of our our 1st birthdays, and Daddy's (3)1st birthday! Here we all are ... what fun we had playing with each other. We also got to eat some yummy yummy cake too (of course, because Mummy made it)!

My Slumber Party

Yesterday after dinner Mummy and I drove around to visit Sam - hoorah, play time! Daddy was already there, waiting for us to arrive. Mummy and Daddy were going out for the night (movie and dinner), and I was going to stay and play with Sam and be looked after by Ellie and Paul. Sam and I had plans to stay up all night in our cots ... well, we lasted until 7pm anyway!

I was a good girl, not a peep all night and slept in until 7:30am. I then enjoyed the morning with Sam, Ellie and Paul before Mummy and Daddy picked me up. After that we all went shopping in town. With all the playing an excitement of last night, I got a wee bit grumpy then fell asleep in the car on the way home. So it was straight off to bed for my nap, and a late lunch.

When I got up we got ourselves all ready, and decided to make the most of the spring weather and headed for a walked down the The Ferry. We all had a quiet drink sitting on the grass outside ...

... then it was off to the Red Lion for dinner (an early celebration for Daddy's birthday tomorrow)!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everybody!

Daddy gave me an Easter Egg to play with, but I liked banging it and making a lots of noise! I didn't get around to eating any of it though ... but Mummy gave me so chocolate later in the day!

Following my afternoon nap we took a trip to the Blue Planet Aquarium. It was ace!! We saw lots of different fish that were all different colours. We saw little fish, big fish and everything in between. There were even sharks with 3 rows of teeth. Daddy tried to stroke a sting ray (allowed), but instead he poked it in the eye and it swam to the bottom of the pool! Daddy showed me the frogs, but Mummy wouldn't look at them, she was too scared of them!

On Good Friday Daddy went for a long run, and Mummy and I went swimming with William and Lindy! We gave William a nice big Easter egg - yum yum! In the afternoon we all went to the gym so I could play on the equipment. I am getting fast now at climbing to the top of the slide, and coming down on my own. It is so much fun!

Yesterday I had some special Daddy time. He took me to the garden centre and treated us both to a chocolate muffin. He couldn't get it past Mummy though, she noticed some of the chocolate on my top! In the afternoon Mummy and I went for a walk with Alison along the canal. I liked pointing at the dogs and ducks! Then we all met Daddy and Brian at the gym; I got to play some more while they chatted grown-up stuff!

The Easter Bonnet Parade

Today at nursery we had an Easter Bonnet Parade ... Mummy spent last night making me a super bonnet. She said she was a little embarrassed by it, and left it in my bag at nursery. Luckily Rachel found it in my bag, and I got to wear it at the parade - hoorah! And, to top it off, I even won a prize. My Mummy has super craft skills ... although Rachel did tell Mummy that the ones that usually win the prizes are the ones that look like the child has help out!!!

So, I have a super big Easter Egg, but I wonder if Mummy and Daddy will let me eat it, or eat it for themselves??? I'm guessing the latter!

Run Daddy Run!

Today Daddy was up and out of the house early. He had a date in Liverpool with a half marathon. It was lovely day for run, the sun was out but not to warm or cool. Daddy improved by 21 minutes on the half marathon he did 2 months ago - well done Daddy! He is doing another in a month, will he improve by that much again??

While Daddy was running, Mummy and I went to visit William and Lindy. We missed William's birthday on Monday because Mummy was sick. It was so much fun playing with William's toys; I didn't want to get off his Pooh ride-on. I screamed when Mummy took me off, but I quickly calmed down when I realised we were going for a walk to the park! The swing is no match for the slide these days!

I was pooped after my morning of playing, and had a BIG (2.5 hours) lunchtime nap! Then it was off to David Lloyd, where I got to play with Sam and Mummy and Daddy had coffee with Ellie and Paul. My rocking horse there rocks, it is my favourite of all the toys!

Yesterday I got to have some quality time with Daddy, and then in the afternoon we all went swimming together. I really enjoyed doing 'Humpty Dumpty', and jumping into the water from the side of the pool. I also enjoyed playing with the other boys in girls in the toddler pool, particularly chasing them!!

Fun Day

What a busy day Mummy and I had today, but boy it was fun!

This morning I had a nice lie-in. Much needed after a disrupted week of sleeping. I've had a bad cough that has kept me awake, but I now have antibiotics making me better and I am sleeping well again. Hoorah!

After breakfast Mummy let me wander about outside while she hung the washing out. First we were out the back, and Costa was there too. He wasn't really in the mood for playing with me, and he kept hiding behind the daffodils! We also went out the front, and there I had fun playing in the mud. It was time for a quick change when we finally went back inside!

After my lunchtime nap it was off to celebrate Harry's 1st birthday. He had a 'Tumbletots' party, and there was so much stuff for me to climb up, over and through! It was lots of fun, I didn't stop for 2 hours! I also really enjoyed playing with my other friends there. We kept ourselves entertained so our Mummies could chat. I did rest nice and quietly in the car on the way home!

Daddy got home from work early today. He decided to give himself an early mark since there was no-one else in the office. It was great having Daddy for some extra time today, and I especially liked it when he was hiding from me and would pop up!

Last night I had many red spots on my bottom. Mummy thought I might be coming down with Chicken Pox, but they have cleared up somewhat today, so hopefully a false alarm. I don't like feeling poorly.

Weekend with Isobel

On Friday night we packed up the car and headed down to Seagrave to visit Mummy's friend Isobel. We went there last November, and I was looking forward to playing with Deano, her dog again!

I was very good in the car this time, and I slept most of the way. Mummy and Daddy were very pleased!

I had a big sleep in until 9am on Saturday ... all this travelling wears a little girl out! Then it was down to meet Isobel and Deano again. I was a little scared of Deano at first, but after a few minutes I started having fun with him, and throwing the ball for him to catch! The other thing that caught my eye was Isobel's spices, and I had such fun arranging them all!

Deano wanted to play, but I was too busy!

Daddy was spoilt and was cooked bacon and eggs for breakfast, and then we all had a roast chicken for lunch. Yum yum!

In the afternoon we went for a drive. It started to rain and wasn't very nice outside. When we got to Oakham Water we went for a short walk, but ducked inside to stay dry. Back in the car, but I wasn't really very happy to be there again. When we got home I got to have a bit of a play which was great, and Isobel even read me a story! Lucky me!

I was being naughty and kept running away from Mummy so she couldn't put my PJs on! He he!

Sunday we were up and at it (after another 9am sleep-in) and off for a walk around Seagrave. After yesterday's rain it was lovely and sunny. We found some swing for me to play on too. When we got back we went outside; we played with Deano and I practiced walking on the grass. A couple of very wobbly steps to Mummy before crashing into her! I really prefer to hold her hands!

Then it was home again, but not before roast lamb for lunch! Hmmm, roast! I was suitably worn out and slept a bit and rested quietly in my car seat. We had a bit of a play at home and I was pooped, ready for bed again!

Happy Mother's Day!

Hip hip horay for Mummy!

Today is Mother's Day, and I have a super Mummy. We were very busy at nursery making things for her; potting seeds, a card and cupcake ... lucky Mummy! Also, I was a very clever girl and sent Daddy out to the shops, so that he could buy a present for Mummy. She has some nice new silky PJs now!

As a treat for us, Mummy cooked Daddy and I a lamb roast for lunch, yum yum!

We were going to go out for the afternoon, but I was very very tired. After a big sleep we decided to go to the pool for a swim. I was showing Daddy how I am getting very good at walking in the water without my arm bands on! Still got to practice a bit more for land though!

Yesterday we went to Leila's 1st Birthday Party. I had lots of fun playing with her toys and all the other children! We then went out for dinner, but I was a bit full from all the party snacks! So was Daddy!! He he!

A Trip to the Peak District

Mummy and Daddy decided it was time we had a weekend escape; Mummy found us a cheap hotel at the last minute, we packed the car and off we went! We were going to Ringinglow on the edge of the Peak District!

Well, I was a bit miserable in the car. We spent soo long looking for Mummy's wallet, that I got too tired for sleep. Luckily though we did find it at the gym, she left it there when we went swimming today. Opps! Eventually though I did drop off, thankfully, because I think I was wearing everyones patience pretty thin. Oh dear!

On Saturday we woke up to grey skies, a bit of drizzle and light snow, but it was so lovely to be somewhere different. The hotel was great; we had a big room that I could run amuck in! Daddy decided that since this was our first weekend escape, we should treat ourselves to breakfast in the pub. Yum yum, I really liked the cooked mushrooms and baked beans! I kept stealing the mushrooms from Mummy's plate.

We went for a morning drive to get ourselves orientated (Mummy and Daddy got a bit lost getting us to the hotel, we were quite lucky to find it in the dark night). We were all ready for a nap after our big lunch, so it was back to the hotel for a rest. Then, it was time for exploring!! We went to Castleton, which was a lovely little village. We took a walk around the town, found the candy store (bought local fudge) and had a quiet half pint in the pub. Well, not me of course, but I did like looking at the fish in the tank, and climbing up the stairs to the next room!

Today we got up a little earlier, packed our bags and got ready to leave. But not before breakfast. Since it was so good yesterday, we decided to treat ourselves to the english breakfast again!

Our hotel, The Norfolk Arms

Then we were off and away, first stop was a castle, which hadn't opened for the year, so then onto Bakewell. What a lovely town, similar to Castleton but a bit bigger. All the buildings were made from stone and were very old. We visited a craft fair, tried some Bakewell pastries (Mummy was surprisingly not a big fan), saw some ducks and played on the swings. It was a beautiful sunny day, and the air was crisp, great for being outside.

Overall it was a great weekend, so nice to get away and see some new things! What a top idea Mummy and Daddy!

Oh, I spied that the stair gate was open. Quick, up I go before Mummy notices ...

Playing at David Lloyd

Yesterday was a busy day. First we met some of Daddy's friends for a drink. I had a good play on the floor and with the toys. In the afternoon we all went on a shopping trip. Mummy was looking for a new dress; lucky Daddy was around because he kept playing with me. There was also a park there which I played on. Lots of other kids were around too, if only I could climb up to the top of the slide like them!

This afternoon we went to David Lloyd. Mummy and Daddy had a hot chocolate while I got to play. I really enjoyed playing on the rocking horse!

A little play after my bath ... I was too quick for Mummy, she couldn't get my pyjamas on!

My Birthday Party

Today was my birthday party! There were balloons, streamers, cake and lots of food!

Mummy and Daddy had been very busy preparing! Mummy made lots of food and bake a super birthday cake that was like a ladybird. It was very yummy. I am a very lucky girl!

At 2:30pm our friends started to arrive. I had been very grumpy in the morning, but when Jai and Haris turned up I was very happy to have some people to play with! Mummy and Daddy just weren't cutting it today!

Lots of people arrived, and I was a very lucky girl to get lots of lovely presents. I also got lots of cuddles, which I always like. I even didn't mind getting a cuddle from Uncle Phil today, and usually his beard is a little too scary for me!

Everyone left by about 5pm, and it was time for me to have some dinner (mind you, I wasn't very hungry with all the snacks and cake I had today) and then it was off to bed. I was very tired after all the excitement from the day!

PS. If you go back to the photo link from the previous post, you'll see some more photos from my birthday party!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Hip hip horay! Hip hip horay!

It's my birthday today. 1 year old! Golly gosh, what a busy busy year! I've been busy growing tall, growing teeth, learning to sit, eat, crawl, 'talk', walk (not there yet though, but getting there), swim, climb .... I've been travelling, meeting family, making new friends, started at nursery ... keeping Mummy and Daddy on there toes (and sometimes causing their eyes to pop out of the head with late nights), but it has been fun!! Mummy and Daddy have apparently been reminiscing a lot today :)

Today I got lots of cuddles from Mummy and Daddy when I first got up, and then it was off to nursery. Today we all made a cake for me, and then we got to eat it for our afternoon snack - yum! I particularly enjoyed it when they all sang me happy birthday! I was excited to see Mummy though when she came to pick me up, and I climbed up all over her! Yay!

When we got home, we popped in next door to wish Annabel a happy birthday too! Aren't I lucky to share my birthday with a friend!

Daddy finally got home. Unfortunately there was a bad accident, and he got stuck in some traffic. But then it was time for some cake. Mummy didn't make this one, but apparently she is whipping up a fantastic one for my party on the weekend! Watch this space ...

I've been spoilt with lots of lovely presents! We didn't get to open them until towards the end of the day, so I was a wee bit tired, but I am looking forward to checking them all out tomorrow!

A Birthday Party

Today my birthday celebrations kicked off with a big joint 1st birthday party with George, Emma, Emily, Thomas, Jake, Thomas and Luke! What a fun afternoon!!

George's Mummy gave us all a cake of our own, and we all bought a present to swap with each other. I got a cool wheelie telephone!

There was lots of playing as well ...

With Emma & Emily, I'm crawling away!

Playing with George's drum - I like making noise!

The weekend was busy again as usual. Daddy was going to take me swimming on Saturday, but he forgot to bring a swim nappy, so instead he let me play with the toys at the gym. I was so worn out afterwards, that I had a 3 hour nap. Phew! And that was after my big sleep-in on Saturday morning as well!

After a spot of shopping, we went out for a carvery dinner again. Yum Yum. I got to have roast beef, pork and turkey! I even tried some Yorkshire pudding, that is a wierd sort of food!

PS. More photos have been added to Snapfish! Don't forget to keep checking the month 12 link!

Busy in the Kitchen

Today at nursery I made my first biscuits. I gave one to Mummy ...

I really wanted to be able to write "I love Mummy", but I didn't know how! Mummy shared it with Daddy, and they both said it was very nice! Hoorah!

I am enjoying nursery more this week. I've been sleeping better, and I'm not crying anymore when we arrive. Mummy is very happy to see that I've settled in there now!

Busy Weekend

What a weekend we've had. Mummy and Daddy surely know how to tucker a little girl out, and I know how to tucker them out too ....

Yesterday morning Daddy took me swimming. There we bumped into my friend Jake, and we got to splash about a bit. The afternoon though was not so pleasant. Mummy took me out, which was all good until we got to the health centre, and there I got a nasty injection for the swine flu vaccination. Oh it did hurt!

Although Mummy and Daddy know how to cheer a little girl up, and they took me out for dinner. We met up with Ellie, Paul and Sam. It was fun playing together with Sam, although he did like to try and steal my food! I was a lucky girl and got to try some of Mummy's fish pie and Daddy's steak and ale pie. We even got to have dessert too, hmmmmm, I think I am developing a sweet tooth .....

My belly was so full and sticking out when we got home that I wasn't that interested in my bedtime milk. I slowly drank it and then it was time for bed. At 11:30 pm I decided that I wasn't really ready for bed, and kept Mummy and Daddy up until almost 2 am! I was not in the good books today!

I did charm Mummy though this morning, and I was a good girl at church. Well, except for stealing another girls' colouring in book, but Mummy gave it back to her! In the afternoon Daddy took me out for a walk while Mummy resteda, and I got to go on more swings, and a rocking horse took! We then met Mummy at David Lloyd. They had a drink while I played with some toys, and a little boy I met there, Oliver. He was very nice, and shared some of his chocolates with me. We went into the play room and I went down the slide a couple of times! It was fun!

12 Month Check Up

Today I had my 12 month check-up at the health centre. I am pleased to report that I am growing well and in good health! Mummy and Daddy must be doing something right!

76.5 cm tall - 91st percentile - well, we always knew I was going to be tall!
20 lb 6 oz - 40th percentile

The lady was very nice who checked me out, and she even gave me a couple of books to keep. Aren't I a lucky girl! One even has flaps in it, but Mummy only ever borrows those from the library because I'll rip the flaps out otherwise!

Mummy's friend Eloise came over for lunch. She liked to sing me songs and I was very much entranced in her. Unfortunately Mummy put me to bed for my lunch time nap, so I didn't get to spend much time with Eloise.

In the afternoon we went for a walk. It was the first time in ages that we went walking, the weather has been so terrible, but today it was mild and the sun came out! I liked watching the cars wizz by, but the best part for sure was going on the swings! How I love the swings!

Silly Mummy

What a week it has been - and very tiring too.

My cold persisted the whole week, but thankfully by Wednesday my voice had returned! Mummy didn't mind on Tuesday, because it meant she couldn't hear me cry when she dropped me off at nursery! But big news, on Wednesday I was happy to go to nursery and I didn't cry! I could tell Mummy was very chuffed with me.

Despite my cold, we still went swimming on Friday. Mummy tried to feed me a chicken stew after the swim, but I just wasn't interested. I want to eat things that I can feed myself. So I decided to throw it all on the floor. In the end Mummy had to give me some of her wrap, which she wasn't too happy about. I thought it was yummy though. Poor person who had to clean up after me!

Yesterday we headed to Daddy's favourite place, Ikea! We battled through the crowds, and bought a new rug. It has lots of bright colours on it, and now I don't have to sit on the cold tiles when I play in the dining room. As a treat afterwards we went to the Memphis Belle for a cavery dinner. Yum, yum! I gobbled up all of my food, even the brussel sprouts that they fed me.

This morning we watched the Australian Open final. Mummy wasn't very happy when Federer was on his 2nd championship point, and I pressed a button on the remote. Luckily Murray was able to save the championship point, so they didn't miss the end. Opps!

This afternoon we all went swimming. Well, that was the intention, but Mummy forgot her bathers. What a duffer. So Mummy sat on the edge of the pool, and I got to show Daddy all my new tricks. He was particularly impressed with me floating on my back. I like to go in the baby pool too, because I can stand up there and practice my walking.

My First Shoes

Today Mummy took me to the shops to buy my first shoes. It was very exciting, there were lots of different sorts that I could choose from, so I pulled them all off the shelf! I was very good while the lady measured my feet, I sat mostly nice and still. My feet measured at 3F.
The shoes are a light and dark pink with a velcro strap; I like pulling on the strap!

This morning we went to The Jungle Gym, where I got to play with George and Emma. I climbed up to the top of slide, but I didn't really enjoy going down it so much today I held onto the side, and Kathy, Mummy's friend had to help me down! I do enjoy playing there though!

My Adventurous Weekend with Barnaby Bear

On Thursday Vicky, my nursery teacher, gave me Barnaby Bear to entertain over the weekend. It was lots of fun having Barnaby with us.

On Friday we went to Ducklings swimming class. I got to try out my new arm bands and some water toys Mummy bought me. I love floating on my back now, and the armbands give me so much more freedom. I was so so tired after all the swimming, I came home for a 3+ hour nap. Golly gosh! It didn't really leave much time to do things in the afternoon, but I was very much more refreshed!

Barnaby & I ready for a swim

On Saturday I had an morning of playing with Daddy while Mummy got her haircut, and then in the afternoon we went the The Jungle Gym. Lindy came with William, and so we got to play together. What fun!! I climbed up to the top of the slide (the 'ladder' is made up of big soft mats) by myself with Mummy behind me, and then went down the slide all by myself! Daddy caught me at the end, it was fun!

Today I woke up, but wasn't up for long; I was very tired, and was also getting a bit of a cold. I was even loosing my voice. Mummy and Daddy put me down for a nap, and before I knew it 2.5 hours had passed. Well, I had to catch up on my lunch, and then we went to a party with our NCT friends. Daddy hadn't seen any of the other babies for a long time, and we all had so much fun playing together. Mummy baked a cake because it was 1 year since they were all did the antenatal classes.

Apparently this was a practice in decorating for my birthday cake. She learnt something sneaky and used a couple of swiss rolls to make the number 1. Isn't she clever!

About Me

My photo
Warrington, United Kingdom
I started growing around some auspicious date in May. There was some celebration involved, a bit of wine and a trip to the theatre. Mum was getting lots of presents ... I arrived in this world on February 18th 2009 at 12:40 pm, weighing 6 lb 13 oz. Mum and Dad are pretty chuffed with me!
