What a week it has been - and very tiring too.
My cold persisted the whole week, but thankfully by Wednesday my voice had returned! Mummy didn't mind on Tuesday, because it meant she couldn't hear me cry when she dropped me off at nursery! But big news, on Wednesday I was happy to go to nursery and I didn't cry! I could tell Mummy was very chuffed with me.
Despite my cold, we still went swimming on Friday. Mummy tried to feed me a chicken stew after the swim, but I just wasn't interested. I want to eat things that I can feed myself. So I decided to throw it all on the floor. In the end Mummy had to give me some of her wrap, which she wasn't too happy about. I thought it was yummy though. Poor person who had to clean up after me!
Yesterday we headed to Daddy's favourite place, Ikea! We battled through the crowds, and bought a new rug. It has lots of bright colours on it, and now I don't have to sit on the cold tiles when I play in the dining room. As a treat afterwards we went to the Memphis Belle for a cavery dinner. Yum, yum! I gobbled up all of my food, even the brussel sprouts that they fed me.
This morning we watched the Australian Open final. Mummy wasn't very happy when Federer was on his 2nd championship point, and I pressed a button on the remote. Luckily Murray was able to save the championship point, so they didn't miss the end. Opps!
This afternoon we all went swimming. Well, that was the intention, but Mummy forgot her bathers. What a duffer. So Mummy sat on the edge of the pool, and I got to show Daddy all my new tricks. He was particularly impressed with me floating on my back. I like to go in the baby pool too, because I can stand up there and practice my walking.

My First Shoes
Today Mummy took me to the shops to buy my first shoes. It was very exciting, there were lots of different sorts that I could choose from, so I pulled them all off the shelf! I was very good while the lady measured my feet, I sat mostly nice and still. My feet measured at 3F.
The shoes are a light and dark pink with a velcro strap; I like pulling on the strap!

This morning we went to The Jungle Gym, where I got to play with George and Emma. I climbed up to the top of slide, but I didn't really enjoy going down it so much today I held onto the side, and Kathy, Mummy's friend had to help me down! I do enjoy playing there though!

My Adventurous Weekend with Barnaby Bear
On Thursday Vicky, my nursery teacher, gave me Barnaby Bear to entertain over the weekend. It was lots of fun having Barnaby with us.
On Friday we went to Ducklings swimming class. I got to try out my new arm bands and some water toys Mummy bought me. I love floating on my back now, and the armbands give me so much more freedom. I was so so tired after all the swimming, I came home for a 3+ hour nap. Golly gosh! It didn't really leave much time to do things in the afternoon, but I was very much more refreshed!
On Saturday I had an morning of playing with Daddy while Mummy got her haircut, and then in the afternoon we went the The Jungle Gym. Lindy came with William, and so we got to play together. What fun!! I climbed up to the top of the slide (the 'ladder' is made up of big soft mats) by myself with Mummy behind me, and then went down the slide all by myself! Daddy caught me at the end, it was fun!
Today I woke up, but wasn't up for long; I was very tired, and was also getting a bit of a cold. I was even loosing my voice. Mummy and Daddy put me down for a nap, and before I knew it 2.5 hours had passed. Well, I had to catch up on my lunch, and then we went to a party with our NCT friends. Daddy hadn't seen any of the other babies for a long time, and we all had so much fun playing together. Mummy baked a cake because it was 1 year since they were all did the antenatal classes.

Apparently this was a practice in decorating for my birthday cake. She learnt something sneaky and used a couple of swiss rolls to make the number 1. Isn't she clever!

All I want for Christmas are my 2 Front Teeth
Ok, so I am about a month off, but finally I have some more teeth! Hoorah! And not quite my 2 front teeth, I will be a bit lopsided as it is my top 2 right teeth, although it looks like my other top tooth is almost poking through!
I think Mummy and Daddy are happy, the teeth have been threatening to come through for so long now, and the wait is over. I've only been a bit grizzly the past few nights, but maybe the amber necklace has been working??? Who knows, they are too scared to take it off me!
Today was back to nursery, I still cried when I went in, but I went off playing quite quickly. Mind you, a little grumpily because I knew Mummy was still leaving! I think I glimpsed Mummy at lunchtime, watching me eat. It didn't bother me too much, I was too busy trying to get all the food I could in my mouth with both hands. So apparently she says I am just as messy at nursery as I am at home!

Month 12 Photo Link
Oh my golly gosh, the final month run in to my first birthday! Hope Mummy and Daddy have something good in mind to celebrate!
What another busy month! We were busy visiting family at the beginning of the month, I was baptised, Christmas, fly back to Warrington, Mummy starts work and I start nursery. Phew! And to top it off I've been busy crawling about the place and standing on all sorts of things. Mummy and Daddy have been busy baby-proofing the house for me; they won't let me crawl up the stairs (I like chasing Costa up there), but they have rearrange things in the kitchen-dining area so that I have free reign to roam about!
Anyway, here is the start of my photos for the next month!

The Red Lion
What a treat tonight - we all went out for dinner!
Mummy and Daddy decided that they would eat earlier with me, so we drove down at about 5pm. There were lots of other families there so it was very exciting. First of all I explored all around our table, and then had a bit of a further wander to watch some of the other kids playing. Before I could cause to much trouble, Daddy whisked me away and it was time for my dinner. I was more interested in watching the people on the table behind me. They thought it was very funny! Mummy and Daddy's meals came out soon after, and we all ate together. I liked stealing stuff off Mummy's plate, especially the chips!! Yum yum!
Then it was time to go home, and quick bath, some milk and now off to bed!
Daddy is running in a half marathon tomorrow. Good luck Daddy!

A Return to Ducklings
Today Mummy didn't have to work, and I got to spend all day with her - yipee!
We had a busy morning doing some chores, and then we went to the gym so we could go to the Ducklings class. We haven't been in such a long time! I also got to see William too; we were both very excited to see each other. We had lots of fun in the water, kicking our legs about. I like to do humpty dumpty, and jump in at the end of the song! During the class, Carol, the teacher came over and gave William and I some arm floats to try out. I also got a little ring to help me float, and not enough air could be put in the air floats to keep me bouyant. But it was so fun, it gave me much more movement. Carol has lent them to us until I am big enough for the next size up in floats.

I Don't Like My Mummy
In the past week or so Mummy has started me at nursery. It is quite fun when I am there, and the ladies that look after me are very nice, but I do not like it when Mummy leaves. Today I recognised where we were, and I started to cry before she puts me on the ground. But once Gemma picked me up and calmed me down, I was then happy to play with the others. They even said I was in a lovely mood today.
When Mummy came to pick me up, I was happily playing amongst some toys, but I got all upset again when I saw her walk through the door. Poor Mummy, she just can't win!

A Big Sleep
Today I was so sleepy, so I decided to have a big sleep-in. I cetainly surprised Mummy, she woke up with a start at 8:15am and I was still asleep, but I woke up not long after. I was in such a happy mood!
Mummy decided I didn't need my morning nap, and so we braved the cold and snow and went swimming. What fun. I love kicking on my front these days, and jumping in the water when we sing Humpty Dumpty. I am also trying to blow some bubbles! Then we went in the baby pool, and Mummy put me in my seat. I got to swim around and play with all the other children ... and steal their pool toys!
I was soo tired again when we got home, I slept for almost another 3 hours! Phew! Daddy and I then had a nice afternoon together!

A New Sort of Gel ...
In the past couple of days I have decided that I want to be a greater part of the feeding process. That usually involves me knocking out the spoon out of Mummy's hand. Sometimes Mummy gives me the spoon, but I often tip its content on the highchair or onto me! I also like to scoop the food out with my fingers, and then smear it everywhere!! But, I am getting good at getting the spoon into my mouth.
Mummy usually ends up giving me a bath straight after dinner!
This is me on Tuesday after dinner. I decided that the lentil Mummy was feeding me would make good hair gel!

Frosty the Snowman
Wow - today we woke up to our world covered in white! We had lots and lots of snow overnight.

Today was also Mummy's first day back at work after almost 1 year off. I also went for my first full day at nursery. As soon as I got there I was straight for the toys!! Unfortunately the day was cut short as the nursery was shutting at 3pm because more heavy snow was falling. We left at about 2:30pm, because Mummy was also told to leave! What an easy day for Mummy. She also says most of the office weren't in, so apart from sorting out her computer login, she didn't have much else to do! Daddy also got an early mark, and so we all got to play together in the afternoon.
This is what we were greeted to when we got home from work:

We then decided to build a snowman! What fun!!

Daddy even threw a snowball at Mummy and I! Isn't he cheeky!!

About Me

- I started growing around some auspicious date in May. There was some celebration involved, a bit of wine and a trip to the theatre. Mum was getting lots of presents ... I arrived in this world on February 18th 2009 at 12:40 pm, weighing 6 lb 13 oz. Mum and Dad are pretty chuffed with me!
